The Coffee Barn is the newest up-and-running addition to our organization. We inherited our espresso machine from The Traveler’s Cafe in Las Vegas, New Mexico (which resides in the previous Las Vegas historic plaza location of the Tapetes de Lana Weaving Center). We thought a coffee bar would be a welcome addition to our gallery as it will hopefully help to bring people into our space, and expose a wider range of people to our organization. We hope it will become a place where members of our community come to be together and enjoy each other’s company. We hope that people passing through Mora will pull over, lured by the Espresso sign and then discover all that we have to offer.
For now, we have a limited menu, which includes espresso drinks (cappuccino, latte, mocha, espresso, americano), hot chocolate, steamed milk, chai and a few teas. We are mainly serving caffeinated and decaffeinated Espresso from Red Rock Roasters in Albuquerque, New Mexico; we occasionally sample other New Mexico roaster’s espresso as well (i.e. Aroma in Santa Fe, Taos Roasters…). We have a small selection of teas that are certified organic and/or fair trade.
We hope to serve locally made pastries in the future. Likely, this venture will go hand-in-hand with the development of a culinary arts center/certified kitchen in the historic house on our premises.
Our current hours (subject to change…call if you are wondering, (575) 387 2247, or look for the Espresso Open sign when passing by) are: 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
